This chocolate sauce isn't going to be your super thick hot fudge, but it will be a delicious addition to your ice cream sundae or bowl of strawberries. Made originally with Piment d'Ville, you can use whatever chile you'd like to reach your desired spice level.
Ingredients
-
4 oz bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
-
1/2 cup water
-
1/2 cup sugar
-
between 1 tsp to 1 Tbsp chile powder of your choice
-
1/3 cup butter, cut into small pieces
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
In a small, heavy bottomed saucepan, gently heat water and chocolate over low heat until the chocolate is fully melted.
Add sugar and chile powder and mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
Add butter and vanilla and stir until fully incorporated.
Serve over warm ice cream, cake, fresh strawberries or just eat by the spoonful.
